Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 September 2026. This policy explains how Hush: Decibel & Noise Meter (“Hush”) handles information. Hush is provided by Netkreatives bv, the controller for the limited personal data described here. For privacy questions or requests, contact kurt@netkreatives.be.

In short

• Sound is analysed on your device. Audio is never sent to Netkreatives.
• Your recordings, photos, videos, locations and notes stay on your device and, only if you turn on sync, in your own private iCloud.
• No account, no ads, no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites, and no sale of your data.
• Two service providers support the app: RevenueCat for subscription status and TelemetryDeck for anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off.

Measurements and recordings

The live meter and analyser work on your device and save nothing. When you start a recording with Hush Pro, Hush saves the sound levels and measurement history on your device. Saving microphone audio with a recording is a separate setting, and you choose whether camera video includes sound. Names, notes, tags, dossiers, photos, videos and places you add are stored with the recording on your device. Recordings made on Apple Watch are transferred to your paired iPhone.

Permissions

• Microphone: to measure sound while the meter is open or a recording is running.
• Camera: only when you use Live camera to take photos or video.
• Location: only if you allow it, to save where a recording was made and show it on a map. To show the address and map, the coordinates are processed by Apple’s Maps services.
• Notifications: only if you allow them, for the alerts you turn on.

Photos you pick from your library are copied into the recording; Hush does not get access to the rest of your library. You can change permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Private iCloud sync

Sync is off until you turn it on in Settings › Backup & sync. When it is on, your saved recordings and their details are stored in your private iCloud account, operated by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Syncing photos and videos is a separate choice. Netkreatives cannot access your private iCloud data. Personal-exposure recordings are never synced.

Subscriptions (RevenueCat)

Apple processes all payments. We never receive your payment details, name or Apple Account email address. Hush uses RevenueCat to confirm whether Hush Pro is active and to restore purchases. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID created by the app, your subscription status and purchase history from Apple (such as product, price, currency and purchase and renewal dates), technical information such as app version, device type, country and IP address, and, unless you turn off usage analytics, the anonymous TelemetryDeck identifier described below.

Usage analytics (TelemetryDeck)

Hush sends privacy-friendly usage signals to TelemetryDeck, for example that the app opened, onboarding was completed, a recording was saved, a report was exported, the plans screen was shown, or a purchase was started or completed, along with the price variant shown and basic app and device information such as app version, iOS version and language. Signals use a hashed anonymous identifier and do not include your name or contact details.

Signals never include sound-level readings, audio, photos, videos, locations, recording or dossier names, notes or other content you create. Analytics is on by default. Turn off “Share anonymous usage analytics” in Settings at any time and Hush stops sending signals.

No ads, no tracking, no sale

Hush contains no advertising, does not use the advertising identifier, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. You do not need an account.

Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, Netkreatives bv processes subscription status to provide the Hush Pro features you buy (performance of a contract), and anonymous usage signals and support emails based on our legitimate interest in keeping Hush reliable and improving it. You can object to analytics by turning it off. Access to your microphone, camera and location happens on your device, only with your permission.

Retention and deletion

• Delete a recording, with its photos, videos and audio, in the app at any time.
• Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device. App files are not included in device backups, so export any reports you want to keep first. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Hush data in your private iCloud can be removed through iCloud storage settings on your device.
• RevenueCat and TelemetryDeck keep data under their own retention terms. Because this data is not linked to your identity, we may not be able to match a request to it, but we will help where we can.
• Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to its processing. Most of your data never reaches us, so you control it directly in the app, in iOS Settings and in iCloud. For any request, email kurt@netkreatives.be. You may also lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority, such as the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be) or the authority where you live. Service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, with appropriate safeguards.

Children

Hush is suitable for all ages but is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

This website and support

This website has no analytics scripts, advertising, or contact form. Cloudflare and our hosting infrastructure process technical request information, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the website. If you email support, we receive the message, attachments, and contact information you send; please include only what is needed to help you.

Changes

We update this policy when Hush changes, and the date at the top shows the latest version.
